Duddy set for Kings Hall date on road to World glory

Unbeaten Derryman John Duddy looks to be just 2 fights away from the clash
of his dreams – a world title showdown with the new poster boy of the
middleweight division, Kelly Pavlik.

Duddy tackles former world title challenger Noe Tulio Gonzalez Alcoba at the
Hunky Dorys Fight Night at the National Stadium on October 20th before
another planned outing at the Kings Hall, Belfast on December 8.

Two wins before the end of the year would then set Duddy up for a crack at
Pavlik’s newly won WBC and WBO world titles next March. That bout looks
destined for Las Vegas with New York’s Madison Square Garden unavailable
for the dates being discussed for a Duddy – Pavlik showdown.

However before Duddy can even think about Pavlik he will have to negotiate two
very sizable obstacles on this side of the Atlantic first starting with his bout
against Gonzalez Alcoba on Saturday week.

Star Boxing Announces
JOVAL RETURNS HOME
TO FIGHT FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

Bronx, NY - Oct 11, 2007 - Star Boxing's Raymond Joval (37-4 16KO's) returned
to his native Holland this week marking the first time he has fought in his
homeland in three years. Joval fought former two-time French Champion Alban
Mothie (26-17-3) in an eight round middleweight bout.

The fight card was part of the Ben Brill Memorial fundraiser. Brill is a survivor of
the concentration camps and got his start in boxing ironically at the hands of
his German captures who noticed his talent for boxing, which he credits for
saving his life. He went on to become a professional fighter and eventually a
European Champion in the mid 1940's.

Alban Mothie is a tough fighter who will take on anyone who steps inside the
ropes, but on this night he was no match for Joval, who kept him at the end of
his sharp fast jab the entire night. Joval had Mothie backing into the ropes in
the sixth round pummeling him with magnificent combinations and clearly
hurting his opponent almost knocking him to the canvas.

Bobby Gunn To Fight December 7th in Atlanta

Former IBA Champion and World ranked Cruiserweight Bobby Gunn 18-3 {15
KO’s} will attempt to continue his winning streak on December 7th at Club
Europe in Atlanta , Georgia . Gunn is excited about his first trip to the Peach
State and hopes to get another major fight in the near future.

“I was originally scheduled to fight November 17th in Virginia on another Han
Kim card. The fight fell through because of certain people who sent the
promoter bad checks. There were also a lot of empty promises which forced
the cancellation of the show. However, real fighters fight and that’s why im
quickly moving on”, said the WBO title challenger.

“Hopefully, I will get to fight Jorge Fernando Castro and that would be in early
2008. In the mean time, I am looking to make a bang in the state of Georgia on
December 7th. There is a chance I’ll be fighting for a title in this fight”.

Gunn was also upset that George Blades will be given a nationally televised
shot at Antonio Tarver on December 1st while he was lobbying for the fight.

“Styles make fights and this is unfair to the Showtime Network and boxing fans.
Tarver and I would have made a great fight. I would love to fight Antonio in the
future making 175 is no problem” said the hard punching Canadian.
Ibragimov Decision over Holyfield for WBO Heavyweight
Title to be Replayed on ESPN Classic
Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8 P.M., ET

ESPN Classic will televise the exclusive replay of Sultan Ibragimov's victory over
Evander Holyfield Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m., ET. Ibragimov scored a 12-round
unanimous decision over Holyfield to remain the WBO Heavyweight Champion
Saturday at the Khodynka Arena in Moscow , Russia .

Ibragimov remained undefeated at 22-0-1 while Holyfield's bid to become
heavyweight champ for the fifth time in his career fell short.

The 44-year-old Holyfield came out as the aggressor in the early rounds to
catch Ibragimov off guard, but as the bout progressed he began to wear down.
The champion Ibragimov fought a well-disciplined bout, utilizing his superior
hand speed to dominate the scorecards and impressively defend his crown.
Holyfield came on strong in the final two rounds, but it was too little, too late.

Holyfield (42-9-2), who was looking to become the second-oldest heavyweight
champion in history, suffered his first lost in his last five bouts.

The IBF said in a letter that Spinks’ next mandatory title defense is due by

lost it in his first defense the following October.

He has now won three fights in a row. After his last fight, a 10 round unanimous

“Former titlist Phillips keeps on ticking, even at 37. He pounded out a clear
decision against spoiler Sanchez in the ‘Friday Night Fights’ main event on
ESPN2. It was the third win in a row for Phillips following a two-fight losing

Wright so he has earned that respect.  However, I have heard that he is
considering taking an interim bout before fighting the Pavlik rematch.  If that’s
true I want to be his opponent because I’d like the opportunity to earn back my
