Miller Joins Pro Ranks

Talented amateur boxer Scott Miller has signed professional terms
with Impact Boxing and is scheduled, subject to satisfactory
medicals, to make his debut on the undercard of Scott Lawton’s
English title defence at Fenton Manor Sports Complex on 29th
September.

The 25 year old Miller from the Birches Head district of Stoke served
a six year amateur career under the stewardship of Keith Nugent at
the Hulton Abbey club during which time he secured an impressive
21 victories from 25 bouts. Miller will now once again team up with
established Impact boxer and fellow welterweight Jimmy Doherty
(also formerly of the Hulton Abbey club).

Miller hopes to continue his success in the professional ring: “You
can’t fail to impressed with the achievements of Scott Lawton, Gary
Reid and Chris Edwards during the last twelve months and I am
pleased to have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps.”

“Everyone in boxing circles in the city already knows what an
excellent set-up Impact have and I’m confident that I am joining a
first class outfit and that Impact represent the best opportunity for
me to further my professional ambitions.”

“I know that I will need a few fights before I can properly make the
adjustment to the professional code but eventually I would like to pit
myself against the best welterweights in the country.”

Impact Boxing’s head coach, Lindon Newbon added: “Scott has a lot
of raw talent and is also very determined. I am confident that he can
eventually make an impact in the sport and in the meantime he will
certainly bring a lot of excitement to our shows in Stoke.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £25 and £45 for ringside seats. A
limited number of concessionary tickets for under 14’s are also
being made available for the first time and will be priced at £10.
Tickets are available from Impact Boxing on 0845 156 7168 or by
