Stewart in line for Limond-Khan winner

Wanstead based Scot Dave Stewart - who is line to face the winner of the upcoming Commonwealth Lightweight
Title clash between Willie Limond and Amir Khan - looks to build on his win over Kpako Allotey this Friday.

The London-based Scot appears on the undercard of the Hennessy Sports ‘SENI:BOX’ event at ExCeL London
in Docklands, which features Stewart’s gym-mate Steve Spartacus challenging Tony Oakey for the vacant
British Light-Heavyweight Title as main event.

Stewart, originally from Ayr, lost to fellow Hennessy Sports boxer Lee Meager in one of the fights of the year for
the British Title last May, but rebounded by comfortably out-pointing Kpakpo Allotey in an eliminator for the
Commonwealth Crown in November.

That title is currently held by Limmond, who defends against 2004 Olympic silver medallist Khan in July. Unlike
many, Stewart feels that the result of that clash is far from a certainty.

“With this fight I can continue to build on my momentum and hopefully something big will come along after that
because I’m in pole position,” said Stewart, who has been limited to just one performance in the last year
because of a chest infection.

“I’m still in a decent position after winning an eliminator for the Commonwealth Title against a quality opponent.

“I was hoping to fight Willie Limond after beating Allotey, but that didn’t happen. Now I should be in line to meet
the winner of Limond-Khan.

“I know Willie from my days in Scotland and he is definitely Khan’s first proper test. Willie has been a bit inactive
recently but he’s technically the better boxer.

“Khan has got the speed and that will be a huge advantage, but technically Willie is better so I make it a 50-50
fight.

“I should get the opportunity to fight the winner, all going well on Friday.”

Dave is tipping Spartacus to win the domestic crown in the main event.

“Steve has been rewarded for all the hard work he has put in and for his patience. He has looked brilliant in the
gym and this is a fight he can win,” Stewart, who boxes Billy Smith over six, finished.
